Lesson 6 Reflections

This lesson has been completed focused on my unit developement which has not given much opportunity to interact with my team. However, with that said I have had time to reflect on this past several weeks of previous group interactions and assignments and have positively concluded that I have learned many valuable lessons with particpating with my group.

As the course begins to wrap up, I find myself content with the information.knowledge I have gained through this course. All avenues including discussion boards, assignments, group activities, and interactive exercises has buildt upon prior knowledge and gave me MUCH more additional support within all areas of my educational, professional, and personal goals.

  1. Multi-dimensional discussions with the integrations of Google Reader, Nabble, Delicious, Twitter, and Blog are an emerging ONLE/PLE instructional strategy. We may not fully learn from this post-modern discussion format but it is a combination of designs with ONLE and PLE. Traditional online discussions does not allow learners to organize their learning activity. With multi-dimensional network discussions, we do not need to visit each discussion area but we can monitor the discussion in one central location (Google Reader).

We may feel overwhelmed by multiple tools applied. If we use traditional online discussion mindset, multi-dimensional discussions would be complete disorganized. However, if we shift our mind to PLE mindset, as learners we have more control over the discussion activities. In other words, if we want simple discussion, traditional online discussions would be better. If we are looking for effective and true learner-centered discussions, multi-dimensional discussions would be more inspiring.

Now we finished our ONLE unit and are reviewing our classmates’ ONLE units. I would like to remind us four components of technology integration instructions for ONLE: content; technology; instructional strategies; and assessments. Don’t forget to use these four components to evaluate units in additional Connectivism’s principles, such as UGC, meshup, social networking etc., particularly are there any UGC instructional strategies, other ONLE instructional strategies, and assessment applied?

Your group has done a great work in out class. This is a very challenging course. I hope your group has seen the value of "network" collaboration and learning, not just "online" collaboration and learning. Your group should be proud of yourself.
